Last updated on Wednesday, April 19, 2006
(BEDFORD) - The city of Bedford has been named a Tree City U.S.A. by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
The nomination honors the city's commitment to community forest. Bedford met the four standards to become a Tree City U.S.A. with a tree board, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance. This is the sixteenth year Bedford has received this national recognition.
