Trial To Begin For Midwife
Last updated on Monday, March 27, 2006
(SHELBYVILLE) - A Bloomington midwife will stand trial in July for charges filed after the death of a newborn child she helped deliver last year.
Fifty-four-year-old Jennifer Williams faces charges in Shelby county of practicing medicine without a license and unlicensed practice of midwifery.
Williams has certification as a midwife from the North American Registry of Midwifes, but that organization is not recognized under Indiana law.
