(NASHVILLE) - The Nashville Town Council has relented and will allow a storefront in the city’s downtown to remain periwinkle blue.
The Council voted in January to force J-Bob's Antique Store to change the color of its window because it violated a town ordinance which prohibits individual businesses from drawing attention to themselves.
Owners Pete and Pat Hughes fought the ordinance and the order to change to an earth-tone window, despite protests from the Historic Landmarks Foundation.
A 4-3 vote sided with the Hughes, who say they'll continue to tell people searching for the shop to just look for the blue window.
