Group Petitioning Little 500 To Bring Back Team

BLOOMINGTON—The Monroe County NAACP is petitioning to let the director of one Little 500 team back into the race.
Courtney Bishop was banned from the annual Indiana University bicycle race for life after allegedly offering scholarships to some riders if they competed. The NAACP contends Bishop was terminated from his position wihtout proper notification.
Bishop was handed the ban after some riders told universtiy officials the scholarships they were promised never materialized and they were in debt with the school.
