Bloomington Hospital Looking For Surgery Patients
Last updated on Monday, March 06, 2006
BLOOMINGTON—Bloomington Hospital officials say they are working to contact eight patients who may have received tainted human tissue during surgeries between September 2004 and August 2005.
Officials say the patients are at a very small risk of becoming infected with HIV, hepatitis B or C, or syphillis.
The alert is the result of a the recent discovery that a New Jersey-based company was selling improperly screened tissue that had been taken by stolen body parts.
