BEDFORD—Two Bedford residents are behind bars after they attempted to run off with less than $12.00 worth of groceries.
Twenty-year-old Robert Joseph Arthur and 20-year-old George Lancaster were in the Jay-C Foods Plus grocery store and tried to steal packaged pepperoni, a notebook and pens.
An alert manager called police and the two were escorted to the Lawrence County Jail. Arthur and Lancaster have been banned from the 16th street store.
