State Police Arrest Marengo Duo For Resisting Law Enforcement

MARENGO—State Police attempted to stop a vehicle for a speeding violation in Marengo and chased the auto for 3 miles before it stopped.

One of the subjests fled on foot. He was apprehended immedately.

A second subject also fled and a dog was used from the Indiana Conservation District to track him down. He was found later about 2 1/2 miles from the scene. He was taken to the Bloomington hospital of Orange County after he had run into a barbed-wire fence.

Police arrested 19-year-old William L. Smita and 19-year-old Michael A. Ray, both of Marengo, for resisting law enforcement. They were taken to the Crawford County Jail, processed and incarcerated.
