New K-9 To Join Bedford Police Department

Last updated on Tuesday, February 7, 2006

BEDFORD—The newest member of the Bedford Police Department is 16-months-old.

He is a German Shepard named North. North was purchased from Von Der Haus Gill Kennels in Wapakoneta, Ohio.

His training and certification process will begin within the next two weeks. North will be certified as soon as possible before the end of the year.

Bedford Police Department Media Coordinator Major Dennis Parsley says community participation to purchase and maintain North has been overwhelming. Parsley is offering his thanks to the Bedford Moose Lodge #689, Keach and Grove Insurance, Copy Trolley, Pierce Automotive, Sipes Body and Glass and McIntyre Brothers for their participation in the purchase of North.
