PAOLI—A State Police investigation reported a person trying to steal a truck in Paoli.

When Trooper Weisenberger arrived, he saw a man holding another individual in the 1987 GMC truck.

After talking with those involved, it was discovered 20-year-old Shane M. Cole, of Leavenworth, was attempting to steal the vehicle that belonged to Amanda Bush.

When Cole tried to flee with the truck he hit a mailbox and ran into a ditch. A nearby resident hear the commotion and was able to hold Cole until police arrived.

Cole was charged with auto theft, criminal mischief, trespass, minor consumption of alcohol and driving while intoxicated.

Cole was taken to the Orange County Jail and incarcerated. The Orange County Sheriff's Department and the Paoli Police Department assisted in the investigation.
