Investigators Continue With Double Murder Case

BLOOMINGTON—Investigators say it’ll be a slow process getting to the bottom of last week’s double murder which left four children wounded.
The boyfriend of murder victim Keyonia Dunn is in custody on drug charges in Bloomington.
Sheriff's Detectives have called Royal Amos a "person of interest" in the killings of Dunn and Erika Thorton, but say they have no evidence linking him to the murders.
Amos hasn't talked to detectives, and Marion Co. Prosecutor Carl Brizzi says the injured kids aren't talking yet either. He says they're terrified, especially of men. The Sheriff's office is trying to get female detectives to the hospital to question them.
Brizzi and his likely Democratic challenger Melina Kennedy joined top police brass and about 40 neighborhood residents at a westside church to declare the city must stand together against violent crime. Christamore House has distributed about 2,000 wristbands reading, "Peace In The Streets" to prod the community to do its part.
