CAREFREE, IND—An accident in Southern Indiana sent 40,000 lbs. of Girl Scout cookies crumbing in the road.
The Freightliner semi was traveling on I-64 new the Crawford/Harrison County line when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway.
The semi driver, 57-year-old Harry Lee McVay, of Utah, overcorrected and the load s hifted making the vehicle overturn and spilling the cookies.
McVay was not injured in the accident, he was wearing his seatbelt.
Damage to the semi was considered a total loss. Traffic was restricted to one lane while highway crews attempted to clean up the crushed cookies.
