INDIANAPOLIS— State Representative Jerry Denbo (D-French Lick) and other state and local officials will meet with Indiana Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman on Thursday to discuss the latest steps in helping workers at the Dana Corp. plant in Mitchell who are about to lose their jobs.
Denbo said the meeting, which will include State Rep. Eric Koch (R-Bedford) and State Sen. Brent Steele (R-Bedford), will begin at 4p.m. Thursday in the Lt. Gov.'s office at the Statehouse.
Dana officials have announced their intentions to close the Mitchell plant sometimes before April 2007, a move that could mean the loss of more than 300 jobs, Mitchell's largest employer.
