BLOOMINGTON—Bloomington City officials were a bit tense Tuesday after an envelope with a white powder ended up at the offices of Finelight Strategic Marketing Communications in the Fountain Square Mall.
An employee opened the envelope, saw the powder and dropped the envelope on the floor before covering it with a box. The employees in the building were temporarily quarantined and the entire block of retail shops evacuated.
Bloomington Police Dept. Detective Sgt. David Drake says a chemical test confirmed that the substance was talcum powder and police ended the lockdown.
