2006 WBIW Lawrence County Spelling Bee Winner

BEDFORD—The WBIW 2006 Lawrence County Spelling Bee Championship was won Tuesday night by Megan Cox, an 8th grader at St. Vincent.
Megan won out over Dairen Jean, an 8th grader at Bedford Middle School, who came in second, and Aaron Brent, a 4th grader from Parkview Intermediate, who came in 3rd. Brent qualified for the Jr. High Championship Tuesday by winning the Elementary Bee in Monday.
Megan Cox's winning word was "menial." Megan was making a return try for the County Championship, having finished second two years ago.
Megan Cox will now take her spelling skills to the Regional Spelling Bee at Churchill Downs in Louisville on Saturday, March 18th, 2006.
