Bad weather is being blamed for an accident on Highway 37 and the Avoca turnoff.

Lawrence Co. Police report that Mitchell resident, 18-year-old Kyle R. Beck, was heading south on Highway 37 when the vehicle in front of him, driven by 53-year-old Nancy A. Stultz, of Bedford, began swerving. She was trying to turn onto Highway 54/58 to Avoca. Beck applied his brakes, but his vehicle did not respond. His vehicle began to spin out of control and slammed into Stultz's auto.

Beck complained of neck pain following the accident. A passenger in his vehicle, 16-year-old Shana L. Staggs, also complained of neck pain. Stultz said her entire body was hurting.

Police report that visibility was less than a quarter of a mile at the time and an almost white out condition existed.
