Police Are Looking For Missing Injured

MITCHELL—Lawrence County police are investigating an accident that occurred on Grissom Road and Spring Haven Road near Mitchell.
According to the police report, 16-year-old Victoria F. Hensley, of Mitchell, attempted to avoiding hitting several deer that ran in front of her vehicle. Instead of applying her brakes, she stepped on the accelerator.
Her car went out of control and spun, sliding backward into a utility pole. The force of the accident caused the pole to break in two.
Hensley was taken by Dunn Ambulance to Bedford Regional Medical Center complaining of back pain. The accident is still under investigation after police learned that there may have been other occupants in the vehicle that were also injured.
