Fort Ritner Resident Killed

FORT RITNER—Sunday morning, just off Stumphole Bridge Road, Bill Smith, a resident of Fort Ritner was operating a backhoe.
He was killed instantly when a tree fell on him.
A crane was brought in to lift the heavy timber before the Bedford Fire Department could remove his body.
Huron, Marion Township and a number of Emergency services were on the scene to help where needed.
