BLOOMINGTON—A group of nearly 200 Indiana University students spent part of their Christmas break in Biloxi, Mississippi helping with Hurricane Katrina cleanup efforts.
Student organizer Rachel Vilenski was told her group was the biggest so far to come and help with cleanup. She says there are miles and miles of damaged areas which have not been touched.
The students stayed in a FEMA tent camp along with families who are still displaced from their homes. Vilenski says many of the students are ready to return and are planning another trip for Spring Break.
