BEDFORD—Bedford’s beautiful Christmas Parade was a festive treat for the children and for those who remain ‘young at heart’.

Gary Ochs and his dedicated committee engineered a magnificent undertaking that should make Bedford-ites mighty proud. Thank you, Gary and all! Volunteering as a judge brought some emotional moments for this reporter: seeing those tiny angels with their cardboard wings, hearing voices singing familiar carols brought tears to my eyes as it struck me that our Armed Forces stationed around the world, and fighting in Iraq are putting their lives on the line to preserve the freedom that allows us to celebrate with a parade.

Then there's the Grinch in the person of Federal Judge David Hamilton and the gift he handed to the Indiana ACLU His ruling that singled out Christianity for restrictions when anyone prays before the Legislative session is preposterous, utterly absurd! State Senator Brent Steele opined" I want to know if it rules out Muslims saying the name of Allah. I'd be interested in seeing if the judge said that. And if it didn't, it's an example of secular jihad that's going on."
