Last updated on Monday, November 28, 2005

ORANGE COUNTY—A Mooresville man who fell 16 feet when the older tree stand he was using gave way remains in serious condition.

Donald Light 41 was hunting in Orange County. He suffered multiple broken ribs, a possible injury to the spleen, internal bleeding and a cut to his arm.

In another hunting accident, Gregory L. Saylow 41 of Westport was not wearing hunter orange. He was in an area where two of his friends were looking for the deer they had shot. When one of the men saw movement he shot again, only to discover Saylor lying on the ground when they went to the location looking for the deer.

Saylor had not survived.
