BEDFORD—The family and friends of Laurie Miller are sending Birthday Wishes by way of e-mail today hoping that Laurie, who is stationed in Iraq, has a chance to check her messages and enjoy their loving support. Earlier this week Laurie e-mailed that one of the patrols from the 100th Bat found over 100 rockets, piles of hand grenades, anti-personnel mines and “bouncing bettys” which are mines that bound up into the air before they explode.
Laurie continued:
"...we had to herd everyone and their cows and sheep and chickens back into their yards. The EOD guys counted down on the radio then announced "fire in the hole."
The first blast was amazing! She sent pictures! Awesome!
Folks, "We are the land of the free, because of the brave!"
Laurie, you are one of those brave soldiers! Happy Birthday!
