Judge Roberts Speaks To Lion Club Members

Last updated on Friday, September 30, 2005

Speaking at the meeting of the Bedford Noon Lions Club this week, Judge Michael Robbins gave a brief history of his involvement in our community and in the legal system.

Robbins, a lawyer, prosecutor and businessman came out of retirement to take over Lawrence Superior court I three years ago.

Judge Robbins has as his goals as a judge to install the highest level of ethics in his court: that means doing the right thing every day with respect and dignity without favoring some people over others. Robbins works to move cases through the system in a timely fashion.

Back in the last quarter of 2002 the court decided 250 cases. He resolved 631 cases in the most recent quarter.

Judge Michael Robbins told the Lions members that the public should hold judges accountable to do the job and spend time and money wisely. He has reduced his budget every year.

My thanks to Eleanor Himebaugh for faxing that info on his address.

There are many courts in this nation that are in dire need of a man of Robbins knowledge and integrity.
