(UNDATED) - The Schneck Foundation scholarship committee has begun accepting applications for an allied health scholarship and a new scholarship for female medical school students.

Applications for the scholarships may be obtained online at schneckfoundation.org or schneckmed.org or by contacting the foundation's development office at 812-524-4244. Applications for the allied health scholarship also will be available from local high school counselors.

Applications must be completed and returned no later than March 15.

Candidates who are interested in pursuing a course of study in a technical/professional allied health career may apply for the allied health scholarship. Allied health areas include clinical support areas such as speech therapy, respiratory therapy, lab technology, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiological technology, and others.

Acceptance for enrollment at a school and program of study in a technical/professional field is required. To be considered, candidates must apply each year. The program was started in 1992 and since that time has awarded more than $465,550.

In honor of his wife, Dr. Andrew Dick started the Amanda M. Dick Honorary Scholarship in 2018 as a surprise birthday present. The scholarship is intended to support women pursuing a career in the medical field. To be considered, candidates must apply each year.

Candidates must be female and currently accepted into medical school. Primary consideration will be given to Jackson, Jennings, Scott and Washington County residents. Residents of other counties may be considered based on available funds and at the discretion of the scholarship committee.
