He has worked tirelessly for the city's taxpayers and during his years on the council seeing improvements to streets and sidewalks and issues related to flooding have been resolved.

Sidebottom is retired from US Gypsum, currently drives for Williams Brothers Pharmacy and owns Sidebottom's Auction services and Bouncy Bottoms Inflatables.

Sidebottom will be on the Primary Election ballot in May with fellow Republican Diane Snyder who announced her candidacy for Mayor on Tuesday.

Snyder says she has been preparing to run for this office by learning all she can about economic development and the city's budgetary processes.

Snyder is currently the Executive Director of Daviess County Community Corrections and is also a member of the Board of Public Works and Safety for the City of Washington.

Mayor Joe Wellman announced last month he will not seek re-election.
