(BROWN CO.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation met with its contractor recently at Seymour District offices to discuss replacement of a culvert on State Road 45 in Jackson Township of Brown County. Construction operations beginning after April 1 will require a 5-day closure of the east-west highway.
OLCO Inc. of Batesville, the state's contractor for this $142,870 small structure replacement project, will remove the existing State Road 45 structure carrying an unnamed tributary of Bean Blossom Creek and replace it with an 8-by-3-foot concrete box culvert measuring 39 feet in length.
State Road 45 will close at the construction site located 3.9 miles west of State Road 135 between Helmsburg and Trevlac.
A state highway detour will route motorists around the State Road 45 closure via State Road 46 Bloomington-to-Nashville and State Road 135 Nashville-to-Beanblossom.
The contract completion date is June 30.
State Road 45 has a traffic count of 1,290 vehicles per day.
