(INDIANAPOLIS) - Secretary of State Connie Lawson Wednesday announced that 51 percent or 2,308,258 of Indiana’s 4.5 million registered voters cast a vote in the November 6th General Election.
The complete 2018 General Election Turnout and Absentee Chart with voter statistics for each county can be viewed online here. The report was compiled by the Secretary of State's office using voter data supplied by the office of the County Election Board in Indiana's 92 counties.
"This is the highest midterm turnout in over two decades," said Secretary Lawson. "The last time we saw a midterm with turnout in the 50s was in 1994. Both of these election cycles highlight how candidates and issues drive higher turnout in elections."
Early voting popularity continues to soar. In 2014, only 16 percent of voters cast a ballot early. This year, that number was doubled to 32 percent.
Lawrence County has 30,766 registered voters, of those 15,724 or 51 percent voted in the General Election, of those 8,878 voted on Election Day and 6,846 or 44 percent voted absentee.
Daviess County has 17,555 registered voters, of those 8,852 or 50 percent voted in the General Election, of those 6,276 voted on Election Day and 2,576 or 29 percent voted absentee.
Greene County has 18,903 registered voters, of those 10,942 or 58 percent voted in the General Election, of those 7,572 voted on Election Day and 3,370 or 31 percent voted absentee.
Jackson County has 27,976 registered voters, of those 14,828 or 53 percent voted in the General Election, of those 10,238 voted on Election Day and 4,590 or 31 percent voted absentee.
Martin Couty has 7,470 registered voters, of those 4,438 or 59 percent voted in the General Election, of those 3,139 voted on Election Day and 1,299 or 29 percent voted absentee.
Monroe County has 97,210 registered voters, of those 52,343 or 54 percent voted in the General Election, of those 27,359 voted on Election Day and 24,984 or 48 percent voted absentee.
Orange County has 13,508 registered voters, of those 6,933 or 51 percent voted in the General Election, of those 5,490 voted on Election Day and 1,443 or 21 percent voted absentee.
Washington County has 18,609 registered voters, of those 9,543 or 51 percent voted in the General Election, of those 7,785 voted on Election Day and 1,758 or 18 percent voted absentee.
Congratulations to Henry County on having the highest turnout in the state at 64 percent. They were followed by Spencer County at 62 percent.
