(BLOOMINGTON) - The Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing an investigation against a Bloomington Police Department detective who was fired last week.

Police Chief Mike Diekhoff says Detective Sarah Carnes was fired for improper conduct and violations of seven department regulations.

Chief Diekoff recommended to the Board of Public Safety that Cranes be terminated and they agreed unanimously.

Cranes appealed the board's decision Friday morning.

According to an internal police investigation which began on December 13th, Carnes, an 18-year member of the force, falsified time sheets went AWOL while on duty, violating departmental rules regarding take-home vehicles, improper conduct while on the job and lying in criminal cases.
