Greene County Sheriff deputies arrested 29-year-old Joey Edmonson on a warrant issued on Dec. 11th on charges of strangulation and battery resulting in bodily injury.

On the night of the attack, deputies were called to a home on North Shanklin Drive in Jasonville, Edmonson called saying his wife, who was not living with him, attempted to kick down his door and had hit him in the head.

Both Edmonson and his estranged wife told police different stories on what happened. Police determined the couple had argued throughout the evening with the dispute turning physical.

Both had similar stories, but Edmonson says the female hit him with the broom and she said Edmonson attempted to strangle her with the broom handle.

A deputy photographed the couple's injuries and the scene which included a broken window, shoe prints on the door and a bent broom handle.

He remains in the Greene County Jail on a $5,000 surety bond with 10 percent allowed.
