Indiana Center For Recovery Receives Approval To Open Inpatient Detox Clinic In Bloomington

Last updated on Friday, December 21, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington Board of Zoning Appeals approved a decision to allow the Indiana Center for Recovery to open an inpatient detox clinic on West First Street.

The goal is to open the clinic within 60 to 90 days according to Bloomington Attorney Cheyenne Riker, who represents the Indiana Center for Recovery. The facility between South Walker and West Wylie streets will undergo renovations before opening.

The variance allows Indiana Center for Recovery to have a 20-bed inpatient detox facility in a former dialysis center adjacent to its treatment clinic on West First Street.

The facility will be a first level of care for victims of substance use disorder who suffer from life-threatening withdrawal symptoms.

An average stay would be seven days. After treatment, patients would then transition to the center's onsite housing and outpatient treatment facility for continued monitoring and programs until they overcome their addictions.
