Driver Crashes Into Dollar General Store On US 50 East

(BEDFORD) - A vehicle crashed into the side of the Dollar General Store on US 50 East on Sunday afternoon.

Lawrence County deputies were alerted to the crash at 3:40 p.m.

17-year-old Katlin Clark of Bedford told police she was pulling into a parking space when her foot got stuck between the brake and gas pedals.

Clark told police she couldn't get the 2011 Ford Escape stopped.

Deputies say the vehicle went over the curb and struck the west side of the building.

Police estimated damages between $2,501 to $5,000.

Clark and her front seat passenger 21-year-old Thorin Powell was not injured in the crash.
