(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Utilities’ 2018 fire hydrant maintenance program is expected to be completed by Friday, December 21, weather permitting.
The only remaining fire hydrants needing maintenance are those located in areas that had other construction projects underway concurrently and therefore were not able to receive the necessary attention.
Signage will be prominently displayed in the affected areas on the day the fire hydrant maintenance takes place, and maintenance crews will carry proper identification.
Customers may experience fluctuations in pressure and/or discoloration of their water during hydrant maintenance. Any customer experiencing discolored water is advised to run their cold water tap until it clears. During periods of discoloration, any customer experiencing discolored water is advised to postpone washing clothes and limit their use of hot water until the cold water clears.
