Monroe Community School Corp. Remind Parents Of Important Facts

Last updated on Wednesday, December 26, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Monroe Community School Corporation would like to remind parents and guardians of a few important facts.

1. Parents and guardians need to make sure that children are coming to school in appropriate winter clothing.

Please contact your child's teacher or school social worker if you need assistance with a warm coat, hat, or gloves for your child.

2. To prevent the spread of germs, sickness, lice, and bedbugs during colder months, please help your children practice good hygiene habits while at home, particularly hand washing and by providing your children with clean bed linens and clothes.

Lice and bedbugs are common in the area, and preventative action can be taken to reduce the spreading of these particular problems.

Here is a link that discusses bedbug prevention and treatment. Here is a link that explains lice prevention and treatment options.

3. As you know, winter break can be a very joyous time for many families. For others, it can be a time of uncertainty while being away from some of the basic needs and structure our schools provide. Here is a list of community resources to call or text in case of an emergency:
