The British Library provides images of the book's first edition in an online article, "The origins of 'A Christmas Carol'," by professor John Sutherland.

One can read the tale of Scrooge and his overnight transformation here.

The great great great granddaughter of Charles and Catherine Dickens, Lucinda Dickens Hawksley, has written three books about Dickens:

She's celebrating the anniversary today at the Charles Dickens Museum, the original home at 48 Doughty St. in London where Dickens and his wife moved a few months before Queen Victoria began her reign in 1837.

The museum also houses a Dickens collection library of more than 100,000 items.
