Three People Injured When Armored Truck Collides With Semi

(IRELAND) - Three people were injured Monday morning when an armored truck collided with a semi tractor-trailer on State Road 56 west of Ireland.

According to a Dubois County Sheriff's Department report, the driver of the armored truck, 24-year-old Charles Dunlap Jr. of Louisville, lost control of the 2017 International armored truck, veered left of center and collided with a Peterbilt coal truck which was stopped in the eastbound lane at the intersection of County Road 800 West.

The armored truck then ran off the road and flipped several times coming to a stop on its top in a field.

Dunlap suffered a leg injury and was taken to the hospital by personal vehicle.

A front seat passenger in the armored vehicle, 21-year-old Kendrick Eaves of Radcliffe, Kentucky, and a rear seat passenger, 23-year-old Jacob Wittenbraker, also of Radcliffe, Kentucky, were taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of leg injuries.

The driver of the semi, 38-year-old Michael Troop of Jasper, was not injured.
