Springville Man Sentenced to Probation after Setting Car on Fire

(BEDFORD) — A 19-year-old Springville man was sentenced to two years supervised probation Wednesday after pleading guilty to setting fire to a car.

Logan Furnace, pleaded guilty to Level 6 felony charge of arson, in Lawrence Superior Court I.

Furnace was captured on video doing the crime in December 2017. Lawrence County Sheriff Department detectives say the video captured Furnace walking from his home at 111 Graves Addition Road to the car which was parked at 83 Graves Addition Road and setting it on fire. The also found a video on Furnace's phone of the Pontiac burning.

Lawrence County Public Defender David Shircliff told Judge John Plummer III that Furnace has been receiving counseling drug use and is taking medication. Furnace was admitted into a crossover re-entry program earlier this year.
