Gov. Holcomb Announces Judicial Appointment For Monroe County Circuit Court Vacancy

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Gov. Eric J. Holcomb today announced Judith Corcoran Benckart as his appointment to the Monroe County Circuit Court. Benckart will succeed Judge Kenneth G. Todd who retired Oct. 15.

Benckart currently serves as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Monroe County. Benckart began her legal career as an administrative law judge for Indiana's Public Service Commission and later worked for the Indiana Department of Revenue. She also has worked in private practice.

Benckart received a Bachelor of Science from Ball State University and her law degree from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis. Benckart will be sworn in as the judge of the Monroe County Circuit Court on a date to be determined.
