Eagle Place Apartments in Loogootee Hosting Grand Opening Celebration

Last updated on Friday, November 9, 2018

(LOOGOOTEE) — Eagle Place Apartments, a smoke-free senior complex recently created in Loogootee, will have a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

There are 20 units in the apartment complex, at 510 Church Street.

Both one- and two-bedroom apartments are available. The center features a community room, a large back patio, a grandkids playroom, and an exercise room. All apartments have fully equipped kitchens, walk-in showers and washer, and dryer hookups.

The building was formerly the Loogootee East Elementary School and much of the school personality was preserved, such as the original lockers and terrazzo flooring.

The complex will offer various volunteer opportunities, reminder services, nutritional education programs, referrals, and tenant counseling.

Applications are now being accepted by calling (812) 883-5368 or (800) 487-8890. Applications also will be available at the Mitchell Opera House and Eagle Place office after the grand opening.

The complex is income-restricted as it was funded using HOME and AHP funding through Indiana Housing & Community Development and the Federal Home Bank of Indianapolis.

Refreshments and tours will be available during the open house, which concludes at 2 p.m.
