(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after grabbing a woman by the throat and punching her several times Saturday night.
Bedford Police officers responded to the area of State Road 450 and State Road 158 at Revere's Food and Fuel after a report of a fight.
When officers arrived at arrived at 11:10 p.m. they found a woman on the ground.
"The woman had suffered several injuries," says Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore. "Several witnesses said that the male had grabbed the victim by the throat and punched her several times with a closed fist then dragged her across the ground before leaving in a vehicle."
Lawrence County Sheriff deputies located 22-year-old Medelran Wright at a home on Bartlettsville Road.
Wright was arrested on a charge of battery resulting in bodily injury.
