Youth STEM Makers Spark Club - Now Enrolling

(BEDFORD) - Now is your chance to join the Maker Movement and work on your science, technology, engineering, and math skills. Purdue Extension- Lawrence County is hosting a Fall Break activity for youth in grades 5-9.

Participants will get to tinker and work with cool technologies. We will work with everything
from no tech to high tech. Activities will include items such as basic computer coding, 3-D
Printing Pens, Ozo bots, makey makey. MakerSpaces simply have goals instead of instructions and are designed to inspire learning and create a fun and inventive atmosphere.

Location: Purdue Extension- Lawrence County Office

Schedule: October 17, 18, 19, 2018 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Cost and Supplies:

The cost is $20, which include 4-H program fee and access to all 4-H programs through the year. You can find more information at http://bit.ly/SPARKClubs

Registration:
To register or have your questions answered, please email lodmell@purdue.edu, call 812-275-4623, or visit the Lawrence County-Purdue Extension office, 924 16th Street, Bedford, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Registrations are due by October 12 and limited to 15 participants. Youth who register will be encouraged to attend all 3 days.

What is a Spark Club?:

A SPARK Club is a short-term club that is geared towards a specified topic, and are led by 4-H staff or volunteers, who are knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. SPARK Clubs must meet for at least six hours, but the schedule depends on what fits the content best. Some may meet for one day or some may meet on multiple occasions.
