Weekend Workload Light On I-69, Some Restrictions Back On Monday
Last updated on Saturday, October 27, 2018
(BLOOMINGTON) - Weather permitting, some crews will be out in the I-69 Section 5 work zone this weekend, hanging signs, installing guardrail and knocking out punch list items. Most of the work is offline and won’t impact traffic.
On Monday morning, some barrels will return and punch list activity will pick up. Most construction activity will require shoulder closures and flagging operations, but motorists should be aware of some limited lane restrictions:
- The shoulders of the northbound and southbound I-69 off ramps at the 2nd and 3rd Street interchanges will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for panel sign installation.
- The shoulders of the northbound and southbound I-69 off ramps at Fullerton Pike will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for panel sign installation.
- The shoulders of both northbound and southbound I-69 from Little Indian Creek to Chambers Pike will be closed at 7 a.m. to allow for punch list work.
- The left lanes of both northbound and southbound I-69 at the Sample Road interchange will be restricted for punch list work.
- The right lane of southbound I-69 will be restricted at 3rd Street for punch list work at the interchange.
- The right lanes of both northbound and southbound I-69 will be restricted from the Sample Road interchange to Kinser Pike for punch list work.
- The right lanes of both eastbound and westbound 2nd Street will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the installation of traffic signals and signal sensors. These restrictions will be in place all week.
All construction work is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change.
