Plan Commission Hosts Special Hearing to Discuss Transportation Plan

Last updated on Sunday, October 7, 2018

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Plan Commission invites residents to a special hearing to discuss the proposed Transportation Plan, an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan, on Tuesday, October 9, at 5:30 pm in Council Chambers at City Hall (401 N. Morton Street).

This is the first of several public hearings to be held prior to review, comment, and adoption of the Transportation Plan by City Council. The process of developing a Transportation Plan was initiated in January 2018 and incorporated extensive input from the community. The multimodal plan presents options for improving connectivity for cars, bikes, and pedestrians throughout the City.

"Transportation impacts everyone--residents, businesses, and visitors," said Mayor John Hamilton. "I encourage our community members to continue to weigh in with your questions and concerns so that this document serves to shape the Bloomington that works best for all."

The draft Transportation Plan is available at https://bloomington.in.gov/transportation/plan, where residents may leave comments. The plan builds on the vision and goals established by the Comprehensive Plan, adopted in March 2018, which can be accessed online at https://bloomington.in.gov/boards/plan/comprehensive-plan.
