(GREENE CO.) - An Owensburg man died early Thursday morning in a traffic accident near Scotland.
Police say 33-year-old Travis Caswell of Owensburg was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a Greene County Sheriff Department press release, Caswell was traveling west on State Road 58 in a 2015 Chevrolet pickup when he drove around a set of traffic barricades at State Road 58 and West Gate Road.
He continued into the construction zone and drove around the second set of barricades and crashed into a large excavator. The highway was closed for bridge construction.
When rescue workers arrived Caswell had died from his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
