One Dead, One Critical, One Treated And Released In Monroe County Shooting

(BLOOMINGTON) - One person is dead and two others injured after a shooting early Saturday morning in Monroe County.

The Monroe County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 2200 block of East Pointe Road after a report of a fight and possible shots fired.

When deputies arrived they found three people had been shot.

They found 21-year-old Kemontie Johnson of Indianapolis dead at the scene. Two others were transported to local hospitals for treatment. One was flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where they are listed in critical condition. One was treated and released.

Detectives believe at this time that there was only 1 shooter. The shooter fled the scene before police arrived. Police are still looking for that person.

The Monroe County Coroner says an autopsy is scheduled for 8 a.m. Monday.
