North Lawrence Community School Board Of Trustees To Meet Thursday

(BEDFORD) - The North Lawrence Community Schools Board of Trustees will meet in open session at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the NLCS Administration Building at 460 W Street.

An executive session will be held at 6:30 p.m.

The subject matter of executive session is as authorized by federal or state statute.
IC 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(2)(A) Collective Bargaining
IC 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(2)(B) For a discussion of strategy with respect to initiation of litigation or litigation that is either pending or has been threatened specifically in writing.

This meeting is a meeting of the School Board in public for the purpose of conducting the School Corporation's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There may be time for public participation as indicated by agenda item, or as directed by the President. The meeting site is fully accessible. Any person requiring further accommodation should contact the Superintendent, at the School Corporation's central office. The meeting will be electronically recorded and will be kept on file in the Superintendent's office. A copy of the audio recording will also be available on the NLCS website. Rob Moore, Director of Adult Ed. with Monroe County School is requesting permission to use the NL Career Center and have William Teague teach an Electronics Assistants class. This would be open to adults in Bedford also. MCCSC Adult Education will compensate the instructor and be responsible for everything. The dates are to be determined.

Vincennes University is requesting permission for Brad Gilbert to teach some classes for General Motors next Spring and Summer at the NL Career Center. Vincennes would pay Brad Gilbert and then reimburse NLCS for materials, supplies, etc. The General Motors workers would be able to obtain college credit
and apply it towards a degree.

Ashton Bonds - BNL H.S. JAG Specialist is requesting permission to travel with Makayla Brock, BNL High School student, to attend the JAG National Student Leadership Academy in Washington, D.C. on November 15-18, 2018. All expenses are paid for by JAG.

Jeff Callahan - BNL H.S. Athletic Director is requesting permission to attend the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Conference in San Antonio, Texas on December 15-18, 2018. The registration fee will be paid by the BNL Athletic Department fund and all other expenses will be paid for by Mr. Callahan.

Jenna Clark - BNL H.S. Counselor is requesting permission to attend the PowerSchool Prepare to Build Workshop in Plainfield, IN on November 7-9, 2018. Expenses will be paid through the technology fund.

Dewey Deckard - NLCS Information System Engineer is requesting permission to attend the Hoosier Educational Computer Coordinators meeting in Indianapolis, IN on November 7-9, 2018. Expenses will be paid through the technology fund.

Dana Haddan - Mr. Trent Provo is requesting that Dana Haddan, NL Career Center Graphic Design Instructor, be approved to use professional leave time to travel to New Life Orphanage in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on December 14-20, 2018. This is to install a multimedia display. The Career Center students are designing and developing posters to be installed. Mrs. Hadden will use Skype to connect with her students in the classroom so that they can see what she is doing. The cost of the substitute teacher will be paid through the NL Career Center Travel Fund 1400. There are no other expenses to NLCS.
