(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after someone saw him acting strangely and removing a license plate from a vehicle he did not own.
On Tuesday, just before 7 p.m., Bedford police received a call of a man walking around waving his arms for no apparent reason.
The caller also reported they saw the man removing a license plate from a truck that didn't appear to belong to him.
"Officers went to the area and spoke to 34-year-old Robert Kern Jr. who showed signs of intoxication," says Chief Terry Moore. "Mr. Kern couldn't stand still."
Officers attempted to handcuff Kern and that is when he began to fight with the officers.
"The handcuffs had to be forcibly placed on him," added Chief Moore
Kern, of 1726 Linwood Dr., was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and public intoxication.
