(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman told police she was battered, dragged behind the Jiffy Lube and raped early Wednesday morning.
The 38-year-old woman told Bloomington Police that she was walking down West Third Street around 3 a.m. when a man crossed the street and asked her for a cigarette. She told police while she was pulling out a cigarette for him, he attacked her punching her in the face and stomach. The male allegedly choked her and dragged her behind the Jiffy Lube and raped her.
The woman says the male was white, with an athletic build, between 20 to 30 years old with a well-groomed full beard.
The woman reported the rape around 7 a.m. Wednesday, saying the man threatened to kill her children if she reported the crime.
The woman was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.
Police continue to search for a suspect.
