Two Injured In Accident Tunnelton Road

(BEDFORD) - Two drivers were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Tunnelton Road on Saturday afternoon.

According to a Lawrence County Sheriff's Department report a 16-year-old male from Bedford was traveling north on Tunnelton Road in a 200 Chevrolet S-10 at the same time 50-year-old David Newsome, of Bedford, was traveling south in a 1989 Chevrolet conventional cab pickup.

Police say as the teen approached Newsome's truck, Newsome went left of center. Police say the teen attempted to avoid the oncoming pickup but the two collided head-on.

Newsome complained of chest and rib pain and suffered a head laceration. He was taken to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for treatment.

The teen complained of chest pain and his passenger, whose name was not listed in the accident report, were both checked at the scene and then released.
