Last updated on Tuesday, September 4, 2018

(JASPER) - A tire crashed through a glass window of a Jasper business Saturday slightly injuring a customer.

According to a Jasper Police report, 38-year-old Victoria Tow, of Shoals, was traveling south on U.S. 231 in a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta at 2:45 p.m. and was coming down the hill at the Northwood Avenue intersection when the front passenger side tire came off the car.

The tire started rolling south, through the parking lot of O'Hana's, Aaron's, Orange Leaf and Yamato before it crossed Northwood Avenue where it struck the curb on Newton Street. After striking the curb, the tire went airborne and through the window at Smoker Friendly.

A customer in the store was struck by debris but declined medical treatment.

The tire also caused damage to merchandise in the store.
