State Road 135 Restrictions Begin Wednesday North Of Horseman Camp Road

Last updated on Monday, September 17, 2018

(BROWN CO.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will restrict State Road 135 to a single lane during daytime hours and close the north-south highway for several days during overnight hours - north of Horseman Camp Road in Brown County beginning Wednesday morning.

Maintenance crews from INDOT's Brownstown Unit plan to mediate an erosion/rutting problem at a sink/slide site near mile marker 90.1 just south of Reed Hollow Road.

Personnel from INDOT's Brownstown Unit plan to excavate a 9- X 80-foot section of S.R. 135 roadway and shoulder area beginning Wednesday at 7 a.m., weather permitting. Flaggers will direct motorists around the single-lane worksite. At 8 p.m., S.R. 135 will close to all traffic.

On Thursday, stone and poured concrete will be used to form a 3-foot-deep slab as a measure to undergird the 80-foot-long problem area. Again, flaggers will be on site to provide traffic control. At 8 p.m. the highway will close to traffic.

On Friday, an asphalt surface will be placed over the concrete slab, restoring two lanes of traffic. During paving operations, traffic will be flagged.
