Seymour Man Dies In Motorcycle Wreck

(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour man died on Tuesday night from injuries he suffered in a motorcycle accident near Little Acres.

Jackson County Coroner Mike Bobb pronounced dead, 33-year-old Scott Milliken at 10:03 p.m. at Schneck Medical Center.

Police responded to the crash scene after two different motorist dialed 911 around 9:13 p.m. after seeing the motorcycle's headlights off the roadway in the 10600 block of North State Road 11.

One of the motorists found Milliken breathing shallowly near a mailbox. Milliken was wearing a helmet and safety gear. They stayed with him praying until emergency crews arrived.

According to Jackson County Sheriff's Department Officer Mitch Ray, he discovered grooves and scrape marks in the pavement where Milliken's Honda CBR motorcycle went down in the roadway before hitting a mailbox and coming to a stop on its side in a yard in the 10700 block of State Road 11.

The accident remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were Jackson County Emergency Medical Services and first responders from Redding Township Volunteer Fire Department.
